Here is a portion of my /etc/system:

set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=4294967295
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin=1
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=10
set semsys:seminfo_semmni=100
set semsys:seminfo_semmsl=100
set semsys:seminfo_semmns=200
set semsys:seminfo_semopm=100
set semsys:seminfo_semvmx=32767
**********************

And the db1run.sh database creation script:

#!/bin/sh
ORACLE_SID=db1
export ORACLE_SID

/opt/oracle/bin/svrmgrl << EOF
spool /opt/oracle/admin/db1/create/crdb1.log connect internal
startup nomount pfile = "/opt/oracle/admin/db1/pfile/initdb1.ora" CREATE DATABASE "db1"

   maxdatafiles 254
   maxinstances 8
   maxlogfiles 32
   character set US7ASCII
   national character set US7ASCII
DATAFILE '/opt/oracle/oradata/db1/system01.dbf' SIZE 32M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10240K

logfile '/opt/oracle/oradata/db1/redo01.log' SIZE 500K,
    '/opt/oracle/oradata/db1/redo02.log' SIZE 500K,
    '/opt/oracle/oradata/db1/redo03.log' SIZE 500K;
disconnect
spool off
exit

I think my max shared mem is in range there.

None whatsoever. Thats why I followed them.

This is the only oracle instance on the system. the ipcs command returns no other usage of the IPC or shared memory. I have Lotus Domino installed which shows up in ipcs, but I shut it down during these operations.

Here is what I get when I run lsnrctl:

I still doubt its the listener or the maximum shared memory. Anything else to check? Received on Thu Oct 09 2003 - 22:38:45 CDT
