Thanks Andras, this is basically the same issue I was having. I just thought I was doing something wrong. I was loading 40 million records, which were just area code and phone numbers, and it was taking hours. But I could load into a hash table in under 15 minutes.  Knowing that there are problems with IOTs on Tru-64 helps out a lot.
