Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> runInstaller for Oracle 9.2.0.1 on Solaris doesn't start...
I downloaded and unpacked the three disk/compressed files on my
Solaris 8 (sparc64) machine, but when I run "runInstaller" from Disk1
as the "oracle" user I created for the installation, I get this message:
% ./runInstaller
% Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2003-09-03_11-18-35AM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
and then nothing happens...
"ps" shows a java process, but there is no further activity, and the java process does not accumulate any more cpu time:
ps -f
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD oracle 11134 11130 0 11:16:56 pts/8 0:00 -csh oracle 11170 1 0 11:18:35 pts/8 0:04 /tmp/OraInstall2003-09-03_11-18-35AM/jre/bin/../bin/sparc/native_threads/java -
What does the installation hang there?
