It's not the pits yet and there is probably some milking still to be done. But I wouldn't bank my future on it. Larry has very seriously upset his "best friends", the DBAs. And the past insane pricing policies have stepped on too many toes. The mood in the client base is summed up best with a very simple phrase: "screw Oracle". The 5 letter word is my choice. The original was much stronger.
