Hello,

On a Windows 2000-advanced server with 8gb RAM, for an Oracle 8.1.7.4 installation, can I use the following parameters/approach.

  1. use /PAE switch
  2. AWE_WINDOW_MEMORY to 1 gb (or I can leave the registry as it IS, without creating this key, since 1 GB is the default).
  3. Set use_indirect_buffers=true in init.ora
  4. Use max of 4.5 gb for my db_blocks (allowing 500 mb for any overheads).

Is this correct.

Regards

Lakshmanan, K
