Please, please,please read the Concepts manual ( at least) . New to Oracle and new to Oracle DBA is a path to frustration and/or disaster without a solid understanding of the architecture and design behind this complex RDBMS..We were all there once, and there is no easy path to this beast..but the trip is worth it.
