Consider looking at the SuSE install setup guides at http://www.suse.com/en/business/certifications/certified_software/oracle/matrix.html for some hints. (I haven't tried RH8 - I'm a SuSE bigot! but the SuSE docs do give a lot of useful extra hints.)

Are you teaching 9.0.3 only?

I assume since you mention 9.0.3 you ignore the 9.0.2-only stuff (Portal, Forms, Reports, Disco, etc.) so the only real reason for Infrastructure is clustering and islands. My 9iAs Infra fit nicely on a SuSE box that had 9iDB R2 - no install hassles after reading the notes. If you're teaching 9iAS: Basic Admin, we may want to discuss offline.

Any specific subset? Do you want Web Cache? Or just Java? Also, I've found that under no circumstance can I put a fresh 9.0.3 on the same box as the infrastructure, Linux or otherwise. Received on Fri Aug 08 2003 - 22:50:53 CDT
