OT, I realise. But...

Interesting. In my jurisdiction, I'm forbidden from working from home by the government's occupational health and safety provisions. They state, for example, that if I smoke at home (which I do) whilst performing work for someone, that's the same thing as smoking in an office... and that's illegal. For an employer to permit home working, they have to inspect the home office and ensure suitable ventilation etc etc, and get a raft of statutory declarations foreswearing future liability actions. No wonder there are traffic jams.
