RMAN - releasing tapes when database no longer exists

We are using RMAN and Backup/Express to backup databases to tape. Several databases have been deleted but where not unregistered from the rman catalog and the backupsets have not been deleted either. This is causing Backup Express to hold on to tapes that we need to mark as scratch. Normally I would connect to the catalog and database, delete the backupsets, and unregister the database, but since the databases no longer exists I can't. How can I tell rman to tell the media manager that it can release those tapes? Received on Wed Aug 06 2003 - 15:17:33 CDT
