Sybrand answered the question. I just want to add that if you complain to Sun about their quaint version numbering, they could complain louder about Oracle's versioning: 8 means 8.0.*, 8i means 8.1.*; Oracle Applications 11 means 11.0, 11i means > 11.1, Application Server changes from OAS to 9iAS, versions change from 1.0.2.2 to 9.0.x
