I read in an article about the Oracle - PeopleSoft war, that Larry Ellison specifically mentioned he would buy BEA if the price was right. Does this scare anyone else?

We use and love Weblogic here. I was involved in the initial implementation and it wasn't that difficult. Since then, we have expanded the number of projects that use it and have hired a couple of guys to be "WebLogic Administrators". The JVMs are resource hogs, but performance is excellent.
