Windows versions are read as Major.Minor. Minor version number 1 in 5.1 means it's an XP. Windows 2000 is 5.0. To check, goto Dos prompt and type ver or query registry at
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion.
