You can probably do it, as others suggested. However, key question is why? Do you have any problems with AIX? Probably you're in typical situation. Someone wise has got a "great idea" how to decrease it costs. Before some time these guys usually pushed migrations from Unix to "more cost effective platform" -Windows. Now they have a new buzzword - Linux. Outcome will be probably the same. Running critical application on unmatured non-enterprise platform, cost-saving guys will masturbate looking at purchasing bills and do not care about overall TCOs or support staff turning pale.
