Backing up archives after a full database backup

After a full RMAN backup including archives it appeared that the
archives were not included , because they were compressed. After
decompressing I tried to backup those archives, to ensure point in
time recovery is still possible. It failed generating a RMAN-20242
Error.


My question : is it possible to backup archives older than the full
backup??
