Hi,

i am running Oracle EE 9iR2 with patchset -> 9.2.0.3.0 on a SuSE 8.2 pro on Dual FSE box with reiserfs and hardware RAID 5.

What comes to my mind:

unset LANG before starting installer (german problem only?)

uninstall any java stuff because Oracle comes with own java distro.

Unset http_proxy to avoid internal error in sql-plus.

Use orarun.rpm to set the memory parameters and startup/shutdown.

See:
http://www.suse.de/en/business/certifications/certified_software/oracle/ matrix.html

Using gcc 3 was not a problem so far.

regards,

Toni
