Depends on your negotiating skills. For example, watch your rep's reaction to discount negotiations if you offer being a reference. See if using the other packs makes sense and negotiate that in as well. Lots of opportunities possible. Ask (tell) the rep to make it less expensive than the competitor or justify the difference.

I've found environments where it is less expensive than some other competitors - if you decide to leverage all the capabilities and use it appropriately.

It might help in your costing basis if you realize that the OEM monitor side can also handle some tasks for non-Oracle databases such as SQL Server. Potential exists to divert funds from other areas. Received on Thu May 29 2003 - 23:14:31 CDT
