retransmission count

Hi there ,

We have a problem with some of our clients that loses from time to time their connection.

Our oracle version is 8.1.7 and ithe database is on a win NT4 server.

The documentation of oracle said that we shoud modify the re-transmission count and refer us to microsoft.

Any-one experience with this.
I found on microsoft an article and we already changed a value in the tcpip parameters for our NT/2000 clients.
But for our win95/98/xp clients I don't have any solution.

I 'm not sure that that is a good solution ?
