Oracle 8.1.7.4 SQLPlus scrolls and scrolls

Hi,

We migrated our databases to 8.1.7.0 and then upgraded to 8.1.7.4. Concurrently we also upgraded to VMS 7.3.1. Now when I go into SQLPlus it scrolls and scrolls repeating the line SQL> and does not allow commands to be entered - does not appear to be terminal settings related.

If I do $sqlplus <login> @script.sql it does execute commands properly.

Any ideas as to the cause?
