stop/set to manual/disable unneeded services. optimize for network applications (turn off filesystem buffering) reduce the memory allocated to the oracle instance(s). If you didn't need large memory support (you'd need at 4 GB of memory to take advantage of it) - why did you install W2K Advanced Server?
