hi,
I meet the same trouble.OS is windows NT,Oracle version is 8.1.6.0 Type 'sqlplus /nolog' in dos command line, then 1, If type 'connect system/manager' ,get the 'ora-12560, adapter

error' message.
2, If type 'connect system/manager_at_SID', can access the oracle successfully.

The Oracle server works for weeks normally before yesterday.In last night, the oracle server may be pow off by accident.
