Your Sr. Oracle DBA status is hereby revoked, due to intimating you have expertise when you don't know what a VLDB is and apparently haven't attempted to find out before posting. Status may be provisionally reinstated if you clarify any mispostings.

The Concepts Manual quite clearly defines a VLDB and how partitioning can help it. If you have passed the version 8 OCP or above you are expected to know how partitioning works in great detail.
