Re: Update and conversion of large databases for products like SAP or Peoplesoft

Hi,
i was in a project having oracle 7 upgraded to 8i. We did not need to export import the data. Oracle shipped a utility which changed the format of the datafiles.

But when we decided to use local manged tablespaces we had to import/export the whole stuff.

With SAP i would be carfully :

• Not all version/features for db are supported
• could it be that SAP supports utils for doing the upgrade? i am comming in in adm SAP and it's administration-features is really near tro the database.
