Not books, but I read comp.unix.shell and http://www.shelldorado.com/.

You might have two "things" to learn: Korn shell syntax, and the Unix tools commonly used within your shell. Some common tools--like perl, sed, and awk--are programming languages themselves. Big learning curve, if you have to learn a new shell *and* the tools, too.
