OS: AIX 4.3.3
Upgrade From: 8.0.5.2.1 (EE)
Upgrade To: 9.2.0.1.0 (EE)

Here is a short version of my upgrade plan. I would be interested to know of any gotchas if someone has done any of the following,

  1. Install 920 on top of 805 in a second home.
  2. Upgrade 805 [Production] to 920 [Test] via Export/Import.
  3. Verify upgrade.
  4. If verification successfull,
  5. Get a fresh Export of 805 [Production].
  6. Shutdown 805 [Production].
  7. Create an empty 920 [Production].
  8. Import 805 [Production] to 920 [Production].
  9. If successfull,
  10. Switch users to 920 [Production]. ii) Retire 805 [Production] and uninstall 805. Else
  11. Startup 805 [Production] and goto step 2.
  12. Else
  13. Goto step 2.

BTW... Direct upgrade is not an option due to various business constraints. Please be specific to AIX 4.3.3

TIA Regards
