The 2GB limit is related to the file system, RAW device will be not formated. Linux IA32 support 64bit I/O. It's base on Oracle doc: "Oracle9iR2 on Linux: Performance,Reliability and Manageability Enhancements on Red Hat LinuxAdvanced Server 2.1"
