check the current issue of "Select" magazine. near the back, is an article discussing changes in oracle licensing - which may or may not apply in your case - that mentions licensing of standby databases which are active less than 10 calendar days per year.

if this becomes official, in the current state of the nation (and world) having a standby database included in the typical per-cpu licensing would mean that many more sites would opt for having cold disaster or hot standby databases. that should increase the demand for DBAs, don't you think?
