FWIW, I concur 100%+ ... I was soooo happy when I saw the features from various releases (like tablespaces. vs dataspaces, data triggers, RI). Now I'm especially happy with Workspaces, login triggers, etc. Looking forward to the next improvements!

Unfortunately, by actually leveraging the underlying RDBMS, they would have to commit to a) understanding the RDBMS, b) supporting a single vendor solution, c) reducing the general programming effort and overhead so significantly that they would actually make a legitimate profit frtom reasonable priced product.
Beside, it allows them to say "if you don't like Oracle, get Microsoft SQL Server, it's just as good" - you only lose credibility after the sale is done, when it doesn't matter. Remember, marketing (not development) rules!
