Table monitoring

I have a dataload which has several phases, I would like to use the
'staleness' of the stats to initiate an anlayze between phases,
however given that SMON only updates the mon_mods$ every 3 hours, is
there an event to force an update or an x$ table , etc to get at the
info sooner?
