hello,
I'm in the process of having to shop for an application server. The oracle sales person has dropped the price quote on the oracle application server so much that the management from a site I'm doing work at is considering the oracle app. server as opposed to macromedia coldfusion. (that was our first suggestion, but after the management got a demo of the oracle "toys" with all their bells and whistles they were star-struck!)
My question is......since they are going to get 25 perpetual users for oracle db, what is a good amount of users to get for the app. server? We intend to migrate several of their old apps. onto the oracle app. server and build a portal. The developer suite would be just 1 user....only the programmer needs that. The database is 25 users...but I'm not sure how the app. server users tie into the whole thing? Also, for example, if the app. server gets more than 25 users on it, what happens? Does it lock you out?

Thank you for any advice!
