Depends on exactly wat you're downloading, but from memory, the files you get at the end of the download should indeed be in the 550-650MB range, so if you've anything less than that, your download didn't work.

When I downloaded them via a 56K modem, it tooko 8 days, and a program called GetRight (which re-establishes downloads from the point they failed, rather than starting from scratch).

Oracle is indeed free for evaluation and protyping purposes. But if you read the license, then technically you can't use it to store your photos, music files or chicken curry recipes. On the other hand, I dare say Oracle Corporation has bigger things to worry about than your chicken curry recipes: at the end of the day, it comes down to the honour system.

In the meantime, you can't expect to receive support for a free product. That's what newsgroups are for.
