Sorry, did not mean to cause any hardware failures. So, before you read this, please put the mug down! :)

Let's say your server came with 4GB, but Oracle only used up 300MB. Would not somebody ask you, the Oracle DBA, to give Oracle more memory? Maybe, now that memory is cheaper, people could expect the same from an app server? I.e. make it possible to tune the app server to make the most of resources available.

Before my posts have an effect on Logitech's revenue, I stop here. Thank's for the feedback, especially Noons', most helpful.
