Hi Alexander!

This works in Solaris, maby you have to change some of the 'flags' to cpio ( -icd)?

  1. Create directories Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3
  2. cd Disk1
  3. cat <fullpath_to_disk1>.cpio | cpio -icd This will extract all the files for disk1.
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for disk2 and disk3
  5. To run the installer, cd to Disk1 and run runInstaller.

Good Luck
Markus

Hi,
I want to install Oracle 9i under Linux RedHat 8.0. First I'm a beginner about using Linux and my problem is I get 3 Oracle files with the extension *.cpio and I don't know how I can start the installation.

So please help me.
