I am using Oracle version 9.2.0.1.0, on Windows 2000 version 5.00.2195. I am trying to set up an directory server. I want to switch from Oracle names to Oracle Internet Directory. The server I want to set OID on is an remote server. So, first through telnet I connect to the remote server. Next, from the OID Oracle_Home I set the environment variable ORACLE_SID to the appropriate database. Then I run the command-line, "oidmon connect=<ORACLE_SID> start". I get the mesage "OracleDirectoryService Started". However, in oidmon.log I get
the following: 2003/02/19:11:31:25NLS_LANG set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252 2003/02/19:11:31:25Resetting NLS_LANG to AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8 2003/02/19:11:31:25Starting Monitor Process, PID=1556 2003/02/19:11:31:30[gsdsiConnect] ORA-12154, ORA-12154: TNS:could notresolve service name
