Oracle 9.2 / RH Linux 7.2 / JRE not found on install

Greetings,

Attempting to install Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on Redhat 7.2 OUI gets to the configuration tools sections and has a status of failed for the following 3 tools;
Oracle Net Config. Assistant
Oracle DB Config. Assistant
Agent Config. Assistant

All three error with the same problem;
jre was not found in
/oracle/product/9.2.oracle.swd.jre/bin/i386/native_threads/jre I tried creating a link to the jre under the i686 directory, didn't help.
