Nasty. Particularly when associated with "Java expertise"....
Causes more damage to Oracle sites than a whole pack of IBM sales reps!
Fortunately, the one that sparked that comment has left today to go to Iraq to "human shield against imperialism". Or some other unintelligible crap.

I don't know. In 8.1.7.4 they haven't failed me once. I haven't yet worried about fixpacks for 9ir2, but I'm sure they'll arrive at some stage... :D

I can't tell you what to do but my gut feel would be to go with it rather than 10i or 9ir1. No hard data to back this up, just past experience creeping in...
