I understand enthusiasm about new technology, but I can't fully agree
with you. Right now, we've finished application tests before migration
to 9.2 and we even need to postpone migration of our application till
May, because of incompatibility of support software with 9i (software
certified againts 9i will be available from March/April). We will
definitely do not do any other upgrade sooner than one two years after
that migration.
So, is great that Oracle will release new 10i, but next year nothing
here will change and we will be patiently waiting for 10i release 2.
:-) I think lot of others, especially in financial sector will do the
same. After security affair with 9i rel 1, I suppose there will be
even bigger reluctance to be early adopter than before.
