I believe but feel that I must be missing a trick here somewhere - surely it must be possible to enable a text based application to be available 24x7 - I woul dhave thought Oracle would be clever enough to allow you to add the document but keep a separate record of added documents which it could then add to the index once the rebuild is complete - does this make sense?
