Well, I run it on the following :

HP 64 bit L class server, 4 * 420 MHz processors, 2 GB RAM, 64 bit OS running 64 bit Oracle. At present I'm running 4 817 and 2 920 databases (which means that it isn't a production server!) and doing nicely thanks on that. I have about 80 developers running various versions of our application against one or more of these databases. Normally about 30-50 connects ruinning together on any one database.

On the other hand, I have a dual processor HP server with 512 MB ram, 64 bit OS and 64 bit Oracle running one database - our source code. This one *is* production. About 150 connections all up at any one time. Runs like a sweet thing !

I also have one database running 9i Release 2 on a 1700 Mhz PC with 256 Mb Ram which runs like an absolute dog - even with only one connection, me !

As ever, with things Oracle, the answer is 'it depends'.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Norman.

So, to reiterate my original
question, and provide clarification: What do you run Oracle on?
