Morning Billy,

either I'm totally bonkers and have missed your point, or you've missed mine :o)

I need to import a dump from 920 to 817 - and that cannot be done if the dump is created by the higher version. I can do the required export/import if I use a non-HP server, but if I use any of my HP boxes, I hit this problem.

The views problem doesn't seem to be the cause - I only get an 'export tables not installed' error message if I try to export from the 920 user using a 734 version of exp.

Cheers,
Norman.

How about trying it the other way around Norman? Running exp v9.x to create
the dump file and importing that using imp v8.x?

Export/import use their own set of views - could likely be that the 817 exp
trying to export the 9.2 user gets its knickers in a knot due to the 9.2

export views.
