I assume you get the error above at the line SQLPLUS /NOLOG ?

If this is the case try again with sqlplus sys/<internal password> as sysdba then don't issue the connect statement at step 3. where <internal password> should be replaced with the actual password for sysdba operations. (the password required if doing connect internal)
