Part of your decision will no doubt be based on what type of Storage you are currently using and whether you want to continue using it.

For example, if you were currently leasing an EMC, IBM, etc. Storage Area Network (SAN) and your leases were about to end, you may want to consider switching to StorageWorks (Compaq/HP), Hitachi, SUN, etc. storage due to lower cost.

As with most things, the vendors don't make it easy to compare features. However, my client saved a lot of money by replacing their EMC frames with StorageWorks SANs.

Just wanted to give you some other things to consider. Not trying to start a "My SAN is better and less expensive than your SAN" type war.
