Detlef,

Did you start the ARCH processes, using either the LOG_ARCHIVE_START init.ora parameter or the ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG START sql command?

What happens if you issue the ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT command?
