.Net is language agnostic. It just so happens the Microsoft provides VB, C#, J# and C++ compilers to support it. Third party developers have created 20 other language compilers for .Net. Check it out at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/partners/language/default.asp.

BTW, I don't have any association with Microsoft. Except, I fork over a tidy sum to them every year and in return I make a living by knowing how to use their products.
