If you define "schema" the same way Oracle does, NO (the schema IS a user).

If you define "schema" as the objects that define a particular subject area of data, then yes (a qualified yes). For example, I can have Customer X with tables A, B, and C; Customer Y with tables D, E, and F. Customer X is in no way related to Customer Y. All tables (A,B,C,D,E,F) are owned by a single Oracle userid (the schema owner). However, if this is what you plan to do, you must be willing to resign (in which case, your successor will inherit this).
