Oracle support is right - there's nothing wrong with your listener. Since you spoke with Oracle support, I assume they had you do all the expected things - like making sure you can ping syrlims.syrrx.com and chem1.syrrx.com, typing 'lsnrctl services' to make sure both databases registered with the listener, turning on tnsping trace to see if that gave you any clues, making sure your client tnsnames.ora (and maybe sqlnet.ora) files match the listener parameters, making sure you set ORACLE_SID (or maybe TWO_TASK) correctly.

Since you know your listener.ora is correct, how about supplying some other info about the network setup. Are you trying to connect from a separate client host or are you having trouble connecting locally? Received on Fri Dec 20 2002 - 11:04:57 CST
