Currently we have oracle81 on tru64unixv4.0F with 1gb of RAM & 831mb of SGA in parallel environment. added additional 2gb on each server running only one instatnce.so total 3gb in each server.   when we change SGA by trial error method it can increase upto 940MB. if we tried to increase beyond that then ora-27123 unable to attach to shared memory segment error will appears on svrmgrl> prompt during database startup.
even i go thourgh all kernal parameter & checked.  some of shared memory segment parameters are

  SHM-max=2139095040
  SHM-min=1
  SHM-seg=32

 show SGA
total system global area 931467728 bytes

Fixed size 86480 bytes
 variable size 172294144 bytes
Database buffers 758906880 bytes
redo buffers 180224 bytes

our database Size is almost 5GB
swape area 2.5GB
data block size is 8k

how much SGA i can increase & which other parameters should i take into consideration to solve this problem..

Regards
