Oracle 9i shared memory segment

ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment

Oracle 9i R2 on Suse Linux 8.0

The database configuration assistant fails claiming that it can't attach to the shared memory segment. I did run the appropriate orarun.rpm

ipcs shows no shared memory segment after running the orarun.rpm I did reboot and still no shared memory segment. I did a cat sem, in /proc/sys/kernel all values were ok How does the shared memory segment get created? What am I missing? Received on Wed Dec 18 2002 - 18:48:00 CST
