Try this and see if it connects
substitute Provider=MSDAORA.1 for your Provider statement ( if it does not work, you do not have the Oracle OLE DB stuff installed ( they are not the same as the ODBC stuff)) Run the installer again and do a custom install and add ( usually found under the Programming section) the OLE DB provider
