In which case, I'd recommend to your DBA, if he chooses to 'mess around with undocumented stuff', that he doesn't 'just forget to remove the line after the patch is installed'.
If you're at school, you'll probably escape. In the real world, these are the things which require not an IQ of 205, but *ATTENTION TO DETAIL*.
