so, you have enough space, you are not on a P4 and it won't install.
Do you have the correct Java version ?
Are you running as administrator ?
Just a couple of thoughts - I've installed a few copies of 817 on P2, P3 and P4 with no problems (well, P4 patch sorted that one out) and have always done it as the administrator user - whether it makes any difference or not, I don't know. I'm normally a Unix installer :o)
I think the installer is sensitive to java versions though.
I can't think of anything else off-hand.
